September Week 38 2015

Super busy week! On Monday we went to our favorite sports bar that agreed to open early for us to watch the first regular season Broncos game! On the way home we went to the kiwi equivalent of Walmart to pick up a new space heater but apparently, even though it’s still consistently dark, rainy, and cold, because it’s spring they’re no longer selling heaters. As soon as it gets sunnier our west facing apartment will be sure to heat it up, but until then I’m living in wool socks and heavy sweaters.

Tuesday began like any other day: I worked, went to school, then came home and checked the mail, and there it was. A letter addressed to me from the Auckland PD. I opened it and the letter informed me that a week prior Michael had driven the car 55 km/h in a 50km/h zone. That’s right; he was going 5 km/h over the speed limit (or 3.1 mph over for those of you in the US who don’t feel like doing the math). Naturally, I was appalled at his behavior and haven’t talked to him since. Once he proves his willingness to be a law abiding resident by paying his $30 debt to society, I might be able to find it in my heart to forgive him.

Aside from that, it’s been work and school and yelling at the TV by myself during the second Broncos game of the week. The semester is coming to an end in just a month and a half so I’m getting a little overwhelmed by that, but overall feel like I’m in a good spot to finish well.
