February Week 5 2015

Well, this is it; tomorrow we begin the move to New Zealand! It has been an incredible week. Every moment that hasn’t been devoted to moving out of our apartment has been spent with friends and family. I can’t express how truly lucky I feel to have such amazing people in my life, but I have to say, you all are making it pretty hard to leave! Before the end of last year I took a yoga class where the instructor said, “revel in the unknown, embrace uncertainty.” These words have really stuck with me as we move toward this transition. It’s impossible to picture what my life will be like in Auckland. I’ve never lived away from my family, I’ve never gone to grad school or spent more than a month out of the U.S. With all of this looming over me it sometimes becomes a struggle to even be okay with the uncertainty that comes with a big change. As I embark on this journey, I will need to be excited about the unknown in order to thrive, and that’s what I intend to do.

This is a picture of Oak Street Plaza, one of my favorite places in Fort Collins. I will really miss it here, but I’m excited to begin this adventure.
