December Week 52 2015

Instead of writing this week’s blog about the week (Monday to Sunday) like I normally do, I’m going to break the rules a little bit and write it on Saturday since my family arrives in Auckland tomorrow and we’re immediately going on a trip! This week was Christmas! Christmas Eve isn’t nearly as big of a deal here so Michael and I both worked through the 24th. On Christmas morning we opened a couple of stocking stuffers my family sent and played with them (a model for me, a puzzle for Michael). Then we got cooking for the picnic we had planned with some friends! The day started off cloudy and with a bit of a chill in the air, but as soon as we got to Mission Bay the sun came out. The weather was perfect for a picnic, a card game, and a swim in the ocean. On Boxing Day, which is a public holiday here, Michael worked and I shopped! It’s lucky that I could wait until Boxing Day to do my Christmas shopping since there were so many sales on.
