March Week 64 2016

Another busy week this week! I had meant to catch up on all of my blogs before the end of the week but obviously had no time to do it (sorry for the lateness). I got assigned my advisor for the year at school this week and I’m quite happy with the outcome. I also got to spend a bit of time in the photo studio later in the week. On Saturday I had the opportunity to do a three hour handstand workshop at my yoga studio with an international guest teacher. Then Saturday night there was a going away party for a couple of our roommates that I stayed at until 11:00 (against my better judgment) before finishing packing for our trip to Australia. The next morning Michael and I woke up around 4:00 AM to drive to the airport.

That Sunday was a looong day. We arrived in Sydney just after 9:00 (after getting no sleep on the plane) and hit the ground running. After dropping off our backpacks at our hostel, Michael and I walked downtown to The Rocks Market where I found a couple little things for myself, including a much-needed purse (my old one was literally falling apart). From there we had a delicious lunch at a German restaurant where all the wait staff wore lederhosen. From there we walked along the waterfront to the Sydney Opera House, then into the Botanical Gardens.

On our way back to the hostel it started raining hard, so we were both soaking wet by the time we arrived. At this point we were both exhausted but knew that we could let ourselves fall asleep too early and succumb to jetlag so we opted for a movie (Zootopia).
