December Week 103 2016

On Monday we (reluctantly) said farewell to all of my family, then began our drive to LAX. Because our flight didn’t leave until late that night, we were able to hang out downtown for a little while so we went to the La Brea Tar Pits. It was surprisingly cool and educational. For dinner we met up with some friends, then drove to the airport. The flight was long: we spent about 1.5 hours on the tarmac before taking off, then the flight took longer than normal (about 13.25 hours). However, it was one of my personal best flights ever as I got at least 7 hours of sleep (though not all at once). Needless to say I felt very accomplished as we exited the plane, got our car, and drove back to Mount Eden.

Michael worked Wednesday night while I hung out and relaxed before getting back to work on Thursday. He was busy with Starwars stuff (Rouge 1 came out at midnight on Thursday), but I thankfully had a pretty low-key week. On Sunday morning I drove across the bridge to Birkenhead to meet with the woman running my 300-hour yoga teacher training to officially graduate from the program! I’ve been working towards this for ten months, but was actually surprised at how proud and accomplished I felt for the rest of the day! The rest of that weekend we both got to hang around the house for some much needed R&R.
